Creating a soothing, mellow mood at the end of any gathering is another key element I pay keen attention to when I plan any event.
As guests move into the living room or out onto the deck, I quietly clear the table but leave the flowers and the votive candles, still lit.
I selected this picture in support of the Friday photo challenge prompt: opposites. The warm glow from the candles casts a dark reflection of the flowers on the table cloth. That opposition of light and dark is beautiful and soft, an unexpected visual delight.
Guests frequently comment on how lovely the table still looks as they leave at the end of a fabulous evening.
Thanks for linking to my opposites post!
